Who still remembers Wayne County & the Electric Chairs? Anybody? What a shame! But the Boys from Ready Killerwatt clearly carry this cult-combo around with them in their DNA. The group was even formed at a cover-rock festival where the boys were so convincing in their renditions of the Wayne County hits "fuck off", "toilet love" and "bad in bed" that they decided to stay together as a permanent formation. And who can still remember the publicity films from the US government in the 1950s aimed at popularizing the use of atomic power among the US population and showing how safe atomic power supposedly is? Of course Ready Killerwatt can; their name is inspired by the cartoon figur who talked the wide-eyed American public through these movies.So, that´s the past - now to the important part: Inspired by the American and Australian punk and garage music of recent decades, over the last two years Ready Killerwatt has rocked at more than 80 concerts in Germany and various neighboring countries, sharing the stage with groups like the Forgotten Rebels, DOA, Peepshows, Dee Dee Ramone, Hardcore Superstar, Cellophane Suckers, Turbo AC´s, Randy, Hard-Ons, Groovie Ghoulies, Lombego Surfers...In the Spring of 2000 Cargo Records released a first EP with four songs, recorded by Christoph Rath (Cellophane Suckers) in Cologne. A year later three mor songs were laid down in Cologne, currently under release as a 7" on FLIGHT 13. These tracks demonstrate an impressively compact and rocking sound, and it was no surprise that an offer to do a complete album was right around the corner, to be issued during the course of 2002 on FLIGHT 13. This means the future´s taken care of as well...
